Under-eye, Aegyo-sal and Upper-eyelid Filler Consultation Guide

Concerns about under-eye dark circles, aegyo-sal (the fullness just below the lower lash line), the upper eyelids, and the front of the cheeks involve different areas and desired changes. We have gathered frequently asked questions to help you discuss your current condition and explore a treatment approach that may suit you.

Frequently asked questions before your consultation

Are under-eye filler and aegyo-sal filler the same treatment?

Under-eye filler and aegyo-sal filler differ in where they are placed and the changes they aim to achieve. Please feel free to tell us which area concerns you. During your consultation, you can learn about the differences and how each treatment may help.

Do dark circles mean I need filler?

The most suitable approach may depend on the cause of the dark circles, such as shadows from hollowness or skin pigmentation. It can help to discuss the cause during your consultation, along with the changes filler may achieve and the aspects it may not improve.

What should I discuss at an upper-eyelid filler consultation?

Please feel free to share the area that concerns you and the changes you would like. Letting us know about previous treatments or surgery around your eyes, as well as any current discomfort, can also help. An in-person assessment can help determine whether the treatment is suitable for you.

Do the under-eye area and the front of the cheeks always need to be treated together?

Depending on the condition of these areas, the consultation may focus on one area or consider how the areas connect. Whether both areas need treatment differs from person to person. You can discuss the need for treatment in each area and the changes you may expect.

How can I prepare for a consultation about mid-cheek grooves and under-eye hollowness?

Please feel free to describe what concerns you and how the area looks under different lighting or with different facial expressions. You do not need to decide on a treatment in advance. During your consultation, you can explore options suited to your current condition and the changes you may expect.

What should I look for when choosing a clinic for filler around the eyes?

It can help to check whether the clinician assesses you in person and explains the product and amount to be used, the treatment’s limitations and side effects, and follow-up care. At Plan Me Clinic, Dr. Lee Seung-hwan (이승환), the clinic director, personally provides one-to-one consultations, treatment planning, and the procedure.

Can I expect the same results as the before-and-after photos?

Before-and-after photos can help you understand changes seen after treatment. If there is a case you particularly like, please mention it at your consultation. It is also helpful to consider the photography conditions and how long after treatment the photos were taken. Actual results and recovery may differ from the cases shown, depending on your individual condition.

Risks and precautions for filler treatment

Swelling, bruising, pain, or infection may occur after filler treatment. Rarely, injection into a blood vessel can cause serious complications, including skin damage or vision damage. During your consultation, you can receive detailed information about risks specific to the treatment area, aftercare, and emergency response procedures. If you experience severe pain, changes in skin color, or changes in vision, contact your medical team immediately and seek emergency medical care.
